Project 1 / Robotum 2100 Test Run on the Moon

Advancements in robotics from the not-so-distant future have allowed scientists to build Robotum 2100, the world's first fully automated humanoid robot, equipped with a full memory bank of images, video, and sound samples of the people of Earth, sparking new enthusiasm for the space program. The Robotum 2100's mission is to seek out possible sites of intelligent alien life, while preserving the cultural history of Planet Earth.

Unlike previous humanoid robots, Robotum 2100 has the ability to project sound into the vacuum of space, with new and improved freedom of motion and new lightweight anti-rust material. While disguised as a simple stereo in suspended animation, upon landing the robot's systems activate with a fully stocked reference library, with records of the most important historical events and figures as voted by the Planet Earth's Board of Censors, including musical tracks from arguably the greatest single musical performer in history, Michael Jackson.

Project 2 / How Babies Are REALLY Made

I was curious enough to create a video on the topic of the deconstruction of the human body and mind, to strip everything away and to see the bare essentials of what makes us human. This of course, is no easy task, considering the questions concerning human existence have plagued our great minds since the beginning of mankind. However, it occurred to me that if I could create a theory of creation based on a combination of many different creationist theories, admittedly some more reputable than others, I might be able to bring our understanding one step closer to the truth.

Project 3 / Band Without Players

While exploring the complexities of harmonious sounds using multiple instruments at a single time, I was able to create a video demo providing appropriate visuals for the music of classical rock and roll, which resulted in a new type of band the likes of which no one has ever seen. The pleasant melody of a happier time is reconstructed without the need of real human musicians, for now songs can be played by their robotic counterparts, instruments able to fully play themselves and equipped with memory banks carrying over 10,000 popular songs.

Project 4 / The Instrumental Voice

While we seek to further understand the subtlety that is music, this video is an attempt to give musical notes a voice all their own in a visual language that we humans can understand and relate to. While instruments indeed create melodies that can move the soul, it appears that the content of their song is quite minimal, yet at the same time profound. In the end, it appears that the study of music and its translation to human speech must continue on, yet there is hope that we will one day the line between human vocalization and instrumental language will disappear into perfect harmony.

Final Project / Art is Everywhere

Using all the skills that I acquired over the course of this semester, I chose to create a video using the concept of self identity and the artist's processes. Any project starts with the idea, and leading that idea from the artist's mind outward, where the result can be appreciated by everyone. One may have a great thought, but if it isn't brought out into the world, then that is what it will remain; a thought. This is why artists are so essential and cherished. Only the artist can take a thought and help it evolve into something much deeper; into art that everyone else can see. It makes me thankful that I live in a world where there is art, or rather that artists are able to see art in everything.
