Project 1 / Learning to Animate

Commenting on this being my first exercise using jQuery and css animation, I decided to center the visual presentation of this project around the theme of learning and the "fruits of one's labor." The parallax features quotations that allude to the theme of education and knowledge in reference to fruits.

Project 2 / The connected mind

The animation serves to treat the quotation with a little bit of dramatic effect. It is an inspiring quote from Steven Johnson.

Project 3 / Processing Lines

A generative experiment that allows my user to create a composition of beautiful lines based on how he/she interacts with the screen, i.e. via mouse moves and clicks. I incorporated a fade on the mouse-click so as to allow for white space even as the composition gets more complicated.

Final Project / #wburg

This is the story of Williamsburg, Brooklyn as told by social media. A story traditionally consists of characters, a plot and a narrative point of view. The characters of Williamsburg are hipsters, Hasidic Jews, Puerto Ricans and Italians. The "plot" comes together with photos from Flickr and text from Twitter. The narrative point of view is a mashup: I'm interested in the repurposing of individual content to tell the collective story of a place and community.
