A GREAT YEAR

Musicians Corner achieved a year of significant growth as the Nashville community embraced it as the city’s premier outdoor family entertainment destination for free music events.

Musicians Corner Highlights

Grew audience attendance at 18 events from 10,000 people in 2011 to over 26,000 in 2012

Introduced a Beer and Wine Garden, which has become very popular area and helped to diversify event revenue.

Hosted the first 3-­day Musicians Corner weekend in June in partnership with the American Artisan Festival.

Hosted the second annual Americana Music Festival event featuring Sam Bush. The event was attended by over 1,800 people.
Released the first Musicians Corner live album of performances recorded in the park.

Grew social media followers to over 12,000 total on Twitter and Facebook.


Growth in Grant Funding


Increased funding through grants from the Tennessee Arts Commission, South Arts, The National Endowment for the Arts, Metro Arts Commission, Arts Build Communities, ASCAP Foundation, Jackson National Community Fund, and Frist Foundation.

Historic Nashville Event

Broke attendance records with 10,000 people in Centennial Park – the largest audience ever at Musicians Corner.

Organized the largest food truck event ever held in Nashville in partnership with the Nashville Food Truck Association.
Welcomed Mayor Karl Dean as judge of the first annual Nashville Street Food Awards.

Presented the legendary Grammy winners, the Blind Boys of Alabama. Hosted members of the Black Keys, the Raconteurs, and Kelly Osbourne backstage.
Hosted the first grant-­funded symposium that focused on Music of the Civil Rights Movement in partnership with Fisk University, the Tennessee Historical Commission, First Amendment Center, and the Blind Boys of Alabama.
