lisbon

After graduate from the Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, I worked with Largo Studio, also in Lisbon. At Largo, I proved to be a valuable learning experience in which I was able to develop graphic design projects independently. My work at Largo helped me understand the responsibilities and limitations involved in the professional setting of graphic design. I became involved with projects in the field of digital design, and developed an interest in programming and interaction.

paris

I won a scholarship, Leonardo da Vinci Program, offering the opportunity of an internship abroad. I didn't hesitate to contact Catherine Zask and went to Paris. Her instruction helped me attain a higher level of design, and taught me a combination of theory and methodology that should be utilized in the project creation process. Above all, Catherine Zask helped me to become an expert in the programs with which I work as to optimize my time.

bolzano

In 2007, I was awarded an Erasmus scholarship from my university to spend a semester at Free University in Bolzano, Italy. My experience at Free University was very rewarding as I studied with a very talented staff and also had access other vast and current resources pertaining to communication and design provided by the university. I was also exposed to other artistic courses such as Drawing and Painting.

sao paulo

I took the opportunity to go to Sao Paulo to complete some interaction design courses and work with Rafic Jorge Farah. We had many conversations discussing projects we had completed in which typography had a fundamental role. In those projects, I could see letters as living matter no matter how many lines or pages they'd have to fill up. They would gradually create their own space and sometimes levitate, dancing through that very space.

At this point in my career I believe the most advantageous next step would be to return to academia with the broad professional and personal experience I have gained. I would like to continue my studies of digital design at Pratt Institute. I believe that through the resources Pratt has to offer and advancing my knowledge of the digital communication field, that completing a Masters program will be a very rewarding experience.
